Direct Marketing and Sponsorships
Journal of Honai Math (JHM) is committed to promoting its publications and scholarly activities through transparent, ethical, and responsible communication practices. This policy establishes the principles governing direct marketing activities to ensure that all promotional communications are accurate, professional, and consistent with the journal’s commitment to academic integrity and editorial independence.
Direct Marketing
The JHM promotes its publications and invites scholarly contributions through appropriate, transparent, and targeted communication channels. These activities may include announcements on the journal's official website and social media platforms, calls for papers, academic mailing lists, and other relevant scholarly networks. Direct marketing activities aim to increase the visibility of the journal, encourage high-quality submissions, and disseminate research in mathematics education to the international academic community.
All promotional communications must be accurate, professional, and consistent with the journal's aims, scope, editorial policies, and publication standards. Calls for papers and other announcements must provide clear and factual information about the journal, the topics of interest, submission requirements, peer review procedures, publication schedules, applicable publication charges, and relevant deadlines, where applicable. JHM does not make misleading claims concerning its reputation, indexing status, publication timelines, acceptance rates, or the likelihood of manuscript acceptance.
The journal's promotional activities must be conducted responsibly and must not involve excessive solicitation, misleading statements, or undue pressure on prospective authors. Communications should be directed to relevant academic audiences and respect applicable data protection requirements and recipients' communication preferences. Invitations to submit manuscripts do not guarantee acceptance or preferential treatment. All submissions are evaluated according to the journal's editorial policies, scholarly standards, and established peer review procedures.
JHM is committed to the principles of transparency, integrity, and responsible scholarly communication in all direct marketing activities. Promotional practices must not compromise the credibility of the journal, the independence of editorial decisions, or the trust of authors, reviewers, readers, and the wider research community.
Sponsorship and Editorial Independence
The Journal of Honai Math is published by Universitas Papua in collaboration with the Indonesian Mathematics Educators Society (I-MES). The journal recognizes that institutional collaboration and other forms of appropriate support may contribute to the sustainability of scholarly publishing and the dissemination of mathematics education research.
Any financial, technical, organizational, or other material support received by JHM must be managed transparently and in a manner that safeguards editorial independence. Sponsors, supporting institutions, and collaborating organizations must not influence manuscript selection, reviewer assignment, peer review outcomes, editorial decisions, publication timing, or the interpretation and presentation of research findings. Editorial decisions are made by the Editor-in-Chief or the editor authorized to make the decision, based on the manuscript's scholarly merit, relevance to the journal's scope, methodological rigour, originality, and compliance with publication ethics.
Sponsorship or institutional support does not confer preferential treatment on authors, institutions, or research projects associated with a supporting organization. Sponsors must not receive access to confidential submissions, reviewer reports, or editorial deliberations unless disclosure is expressly authorized under the journal's applicable policies and confidentiality requirements. Any potential conflicts of interest arising from sponsorship or institutional relationships must be disclosed and managed appropriately.
JHM will disclose relevant sponsorship and funding arrangements where appropriate, including the identity of supporting organizations and the nature of their contributions. Where a sponsor has a role in a specific activity or publication, that role must be described transparently. The absence of sponsor involvement in editorial decision-making should be maintained as a governing principle of the journal's editorial policy. Finally, through these provisions, JHM seeks to ensure that direct marketing, advertising, institutional collaboration, and sponsorship support the dissemination of high-quality mathematics education research without compromising editorial autonomy, scholarly integrity, or public trust.
