Copyright & License

The Journal of Honai Math (JHM) is committed to protecting authors’ intellectual property rights while promoting the responsible dissemination, accessibility, and reuse of scholarly work. This policy outlines the copyright ownership, licensing conditions, and rights and responsibilities of authors and users of articles published in JHM.

 Copyright Ownership

Authors publishing in the JHM retain the copyright to their published articles. By submitting a manuscript and, upon acceptance, agreeing to publication in JHM, authors grant the journal the right of first publication and the non-exclusive rights necessary to publish, reproduce, distribute, archive, and make the article publicly available.

The published version of each article is made available under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0). This license permits others to share and adapt the work for non-commercial purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given to the authors and the original publication in JHM, a link to the license is provided, any changes are indicated, and adaptations are distributed under the same or a compatible license as required by the license terms.

Authors retain the right to use, reproduce, distribute, and deposit their published articles in institutional repositories, personal websites, and other academic platforms, provided that such use is consistent with the applicable license and acknowledges the article's original publication in JHM. Authors may also enter into additional non-exclusive arrangements for the distribution or reuse of their work, provided that these arrangements do not conflict with the rights granted to JHM or the terms of the applicable Creative Commons license.

License and Permitted Reuse

All articles published in JHM are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0). Under this license, users may copy, redistribute, and adapt published articles for non-commercial purposes, subject to the following conditions:

  • Attribution (BY): Appropriate credit must be given to the author(s), the original publication in JHM must be acknowledged, and a link to the license must be provided.

  • NonCommercial (NC): The work may not be used for commercial purposes.

  • ShareAlike (SA): Adaptations must be distributed under the same or a compatible license, in accordance with the license terms.

Users must indicate whether changes have been made and must not impose additional legal or technological restrictions that prevent others from exercising the rights granted by the license. Uses outside the scope of the license may require separate permission from the relevant rights holder. The full terms of the license are available at: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/

Author Rights and Self-Archiving

JHM encourages authors to disseminate their research to support scholarly communication, accessibility, and the wider use of research findings. Authors may share their manuscripts before, during, and after the submission process, subject to applicable copyright, licensing, and publication requirements.

Authors may deposit the published version of their articles in institutional repositories, personal websites, or other academic platforms without seeking additional permission from JHM, provided that the original publication in JHM is properly acknowledged and the applicable license terms are respected. Finally, Authors are also responsible for ensuring that any subsequent publication, distribution, or reuse of their work does not conflict with the rights granted to JHM or the conditions of the Creative Commons license.

Author Warranties and Responsibilities

By submitting a manuscript to JHM, the authors confirm that:

  1. The submission is original and has not been formally published elsewhere, except where prior dissemination is permitted under the journal's policies, such as publication as an abstract, thesis, or other recognized scholarly output.

  2. The manuscript is not under consideration for publication by another journal.

  3. All listed authors have approved the submitted version and consented to its submission to JHM.

  4. The submission and publication have been authorized, where required, by the relevant institutions or responsible authorities.

  5. The authors have obtained the necessary permissions to reproduce copyrighted material, including figures, tables, instruments, images, and substantial text excerpts, where such permission is required.

  6. The manuscript complies with applicable research integrity requirements, publication ethics policies, and the journal's author guidelines.

Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of authorship information, appropriate acknowledgment of contributions, proper citation of sources, and compliance with relevant ethical and legal requirements. Any concerns regarding copyright infringement, plagiarism, duplicate publication, or other forms of publication misconduct will be handled in accordance with JHM's publication ethics policies.

By submitting a manuscript, authors acknowledge that the manuscript will be evaluated in accordance with JHM's editorial policies. Acceptance and publication remain subject to successful peer review, editorial approval, and compliance with the journal's publication requirements.
