PEER REVIEW PROCESS

A Chief editor first reviews the submitted manuscript, whether it is suitable for the Journal of Research in Instruction focus and scope or has a major methodological flaw, and screening for plagiarism using Turnitin if similarity of more than 25% is rejected (Policy of screening for plagiarism).
The review process of the Journal of Research in Instruction uses double-blind peer review. Manuscripts will be sent to at least two anonymous reviewers. Reviewers' comments are then sent to the corresponding author for necessary actions and responses. The reviewer's suggestions will be evaluated in an editorial board meeting. Afterward, the editor will send the final decision to the corresponding author. The review process normally will take approximately 1-6 months from the date of receipt.

After being reviewed, there will be four kinds of editor decisions based on reviewers’ recommendations:

  1. Accept Submission: The submission will be accepted without revisions.
  2. Revisions Required: The submission will be accepted after minor changes.
  3. Resubmit for Review: The submission needs to be reworked, but it may be accepted with significant changes. However, a second round of review will be required.
  4. Decline Submission: The submission will not be published in the journal.

» Article Revision

The articles sent back to the authors for revision should be returned to the editor immediately. The revised article returned after 30 days will be considered new submissions. The revised article can be sent to the editorial through the Online Submission Interface.
