Focus and Scope

Journal of Inornatus Biology Education Journal is a scientific journal published by the University of Papua. The journal disseminates articles written based on research results and reviews of literature in the field of biology and learning. Journal of Inornatus Biology Education Journal is publishing its issues biannually, in May and November

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts are checked by qualified peer review and the authors are subject to blind-peer review whose identities will remain anonymous. The peer review process will be done after the initial screening by the consulting editors of the editorial board. The reviewers, who will perform the blind-peer reviews, comprise renowned national and international academicians and practitioners specializing in various mathematics education fields.

Submitted papers are evaluated by at least two anonymous referees for contribution, originality, relevance, and presentation (blind peer review). The Editor shall inform you of the review results as soon as possible, hopefully in 30 to 60 days. Plagiarism detection of articles in this journal is carried out by using https://www.turnitin.com/login_page.asp and Mendeley or Zetero as a Tool Reference Manager. The language used in this journal is English or Bahasa.

Plagiarism Policies

Every manuscript that has passed the editor's desk evaluation or before being published will be checked for similarity using Turnitin software. Documents must meet the maximum similarity limit of 25% to proceed to the review/production process.

Publication Frequency

Inornatus Biology Education journal (IBEJ) is published two times a year: May and November. IBEJ publishes at least 12 articles each year (consisting of at least 6 articles in each issue).

Starting in 2022, IBEJ uses a continuous publication system. This means once the article has finished all of the editing and layout processes, it will be published immediately without waiting for other articles to complete the full issue. Furthermore, the full issue will be built gradually along with the other article being added. IBEJ will still publish two issues per year (May and November), and after every six months, the article will be placed in the next open issue.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Journal History

Inornatus: Biology Education Journal was first published in Volume 1 Issue 1 May 2018. This journal only published two issues in 2018 and since 2019 - 2021 has not published articles.

In 2022, Inornatus: Biology Education Journal again opens article submissions for publication in Volume 2 Issue 1 (May 2022).

The new Editor in Chief Journal is Insar Damopolii who is assisted by the managing editor, editorial board, editorial staff, and reviewers.
